Hawknation! Nantahala School will be dismissing early this Friday, December 16th. The buses will begin loading and car riders preparing to dismiss at approximately 11:15 to have everyone dismissed by 11:30. Basketball players are to dismiss early also and return to school at 3:30.

Hawknation! Happy Thanksgiving! Nantahala School will be closed to students for the week of November 21st. This is Thanksgiving Week. The Faculty and Staff have two Optional Teacher Work Days on Monday the 21st and Tuesday the 22nd. From Nantahala School to all of Hawknation... Happy Thanksgiving!

Hawknation! Next Week is Red Ribbon Week. Each day next week has a special theme for how the students may dress to show their support for "Celebrating Life and Living Drug Free!!! Now, more than ever in the history of our nation, the message of living a drug free life is as important a message for our students, children and communities as has ever been shared. Here are the Themes for each day next week: Monday, October 24- "Crazy" Cap or Hat Day - Put a cap on drugs! Tuesday, October 25- "Crazy" Sock Day - Sock it to drugs! Wednesday, October 26- Hawk Sports Apparel -Healthy Hawks are drug free! Thursday, October 27- Mix Matched Clothes Day - Don't let drugs mix you up! Friday, October 28 - Halloween Costume Day -Drugs are scary!

This is a reminder call to make parents aware that Nantahala School’s Health Fair is scheduled for October 14th 2022. We will be doing height, weight, vision and hearing screening for your student during their PE class. If you do not wish for your child to participate please send a written note with your child to school prior to the Health Fair.   Also, please have you child remember to bring their glasses or wear any prescribed contacts on the noted Health Fair dates so the student can have an accurate vision screening at the Health Fair.   Thank you for your cooperation. Hawknation! Nantahala School is hosting the LSMC Volleyball Tournament this year. The first-round games are this coming Monday, October 17th. The first match is scheduled to begin at 4:00. If all of the standings remain the same this week, the first-round games will be Hiwassee Dam vs. Blue Ridge and Nantahala vs. Highlands. The Championship matches for Junior Varsity and Varsity will begin on Wednesday, October 19th at 4:30. We would love to see a packed gym for this exciting tournament on both nights. Come on out for a Spooky evening at our Annual Halloween Bash?Fall Festival!! The PTO will have Hot Dog plates for sale in the cafeteria and various games in the school gym as well as a HAUNTED HOUSE!!
