This is Goria Painter, the Assistant Principal at Iotla Valley Elementary. I am calling with some important information for this week.
On Monday and Tuesday, our Choir Club will meet at the end of the school day.
Moonpie Sales are due on Monday, September 15th.
Our Wolfpack Mania is this Friday from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. We will have a dunking booth, petting zoo, hot dog dinner, tractor ride, and much more. $20 per child, and $10 for each additional child. See our school website or Facebook page for more information.
The Book Fair is coming! It will be the week of September 22. Parents are invited to visit on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 7:30 to 8:00, and on Wednesday afternoon from 2:45 to 3:30.
On Wednesday, September 24th, we will be celebrating World School Milk Day, dress like a cow or dairy farmer.
Our 3rd-grade families received an informational slip about Read to Achieve night on September 25th. Please make sure you send this back with your student as soon as possible so we can get an accurate count for dinner.
We celebrate students each week who have perfect attendance. One student is randomly chosen from each grade level to receive a special prize of their choice on Friday, honoring their hard work and dedication in being at school every day that week.
Attendance Information: Attending school regularly helps children feel more confident about school—and themselves. Begin building this habit in preschool so they quickly learn that going to school on time every day is important. Over time, good attendance becomes a skill that will support their success in high school.

The 3rd Grade BOG Test will take place on Wednesday, September 10th. Please encourage your student to do their very best. Getting a good night's sleep and eating a well-balanced breakfast will ensure their minds are ready to focus.
If your student is a bus rider in the mornings or afternoons, please make sure the driver has received your completed yellow Bus Rider Information card. These cards are essential for keeping track of our riders and our drivers' routes. These are due to the bus driver by this Friday, September 12th.
If you are using our car rider line in the morning for drop-off, please make sure to use both lanes. This helps prevent cars and buses from backing up into the street.
If you are picking up your student early or making other arrangements for their transportation in the afternoon, please notify the school of these changes before 2:15. Afternoons are very busy, and we want to ensure that all students arrive home safely.
If you or other family members are visiting for lunch, please notify the teacher or front office staff a day in advance. This helps us know who our visitors are and allows our cafeteria staff to prepare for visitors in the lunchroom.

Pre-K and Kindergarten boys will attend all day on Monday, and Pre-K and Kindergarten girls will attend all day on Tuesday. The regular schedule for Pre-K and Kindergarten will start on Wednesday.
This week - Parents K—4: If you are walking your student into school, use the gym doors. Pre-K parents use the Pre-K pick-up and drop-off door.
Breakfast and lunch are free for students this year. Kindergarten and Pre-K students will go to breakfast with their class. All other students who need breakfast will report to the cafeteria when they arrive at school.
This school year, we will be celebrating prefect weekly attendance. At the end of each week, students who have been to school every day will be entered into a weekly drawing for a special prize on Friday afternoons. Look for our social media and website for our post celebrating these students.
School will be closed on Monday, September 1st, in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy this day with your families.
